Afellay won't last a full season.
Bojan just come back from a serious injury
You have to wonder why other clubs haven't gone in for Shaqiri

Its going to be a very tight Premier League - anyone can beat anyone.

Bojan was very good until he broke his leg or whatever it was on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke.
Afellay has been drifting a bit on various loans so who knows how he will stack up.
Shaqiri hasn't been the same since he married Gerard Pique. Only saw bits of him playing for Switzerland though always struck me as partial to a TOBLERONE.

Shaqiri is very good

Better then Bolasie, Moses, Montero, Chadli and all other wingers that play for teams in that 6-12th mini league.

Amazed they have pulled it off. Expecting closest premier league in years as there is more quality outside the top 4 then ever before.

Arnautovic can go with that list too, Had they kept n'zonzi they would've been right up there for Europe but I reckon they will miss him bad

I didn't actually know N'Zonzi had gone til I saw them v Liverpool. Sevilla for £7m wasn't it?
Surprised they went for that. They will miss him badly.
Seems strange to say but they look a bit FRAGILE now.

I like FFP and glad this has resulted in mid table teams make BIG signings. Much more even competition and proves what a a good thing it was to introduce this. Sky has a big part to play obviously.

Every one seems to be making some shrewd signings.

Bournemouth - Gradel
Villa - made loads although probably helped by Benteke money.
Palace - Cabaye
Leicester - Okazaki and Kante
Newcastle - Winjaldum & Mitrovic
Stoke - not just these guys mentioned but more
Sunderland - Lens
West Brom - Rondon

Great stuff. Although it's a shame we haven't been able to add to Payet with a few more world class players.

I'd have loved Shaqiri

Bristol City are paying £6m for Dwight Gayle, the money is English football is mental.

Re: Bojan, Afellay, Shaqiri at Stoke... WTF
The signings are more about Sky's money than FFP.
FFP is everyone having the same wage limit and squad size not Man City buying £49m Sterling and probably adding £45m DeBruyn while we wonder whether we can afford another £10m player.

That said the fact that most clubs can afford a bit of quality helps the League.
Just waiting til one of the big clubs says they should have Payet though.

Ive wondered for a while why lower level prem clubs weren't able to sign better players with all the sky money and exposure this league gets I think finally the ball is dropping for the players and the big wages combined with a regular place in a side in this league makes playing for Stoke or Swansea attractive if Chlesea doesn't want you why not?

As you say though its stoke and these players don't really fit them its mroe of a championship manager fantasy land than a contending side.

Re: Bojan, Afellay, Shaqiri at Stoke... WTF
thought Afellay looked very lightweight on sunday, needs to get to grips with the PL asap.
Bojan was great last season, but everytime i've seen Shaqiri he is all show and no end product.

Re: Bojan, Afellay, Shaqiri at Stoke... WTF
To be honest I have never been a fan of Mark Hughes as a manager. Always bigged up massively just by doing an average job. Think he's also been in the right place at the right time for some jobs.

But, got to give some credit, he has done a good job at Stoke. They seem to have kept the grit and steel they always had under Pulis but he has now got them playing some good football.

N'Zonzi will be huge loss to them though and not sure they will be able to replace him.

Bojan's injury was very serious. There will be question marks over him when he comes back as to if he will be the same player. It is a shame for the lad as he just started to really get going. But as he plays for Stoke I actually couldn't care too much.

Afellay and Shaqiri are good signings. Very strange how Shaqiri has gone from Swiss superstar at Inter to playing for Stoke though. But, as last poster said, maybe the increase money is now going to start seeing top class players at mid-table clubs?

I hope Shaqiri does fuck all though.
